A few times I wish I'd had this in our kitchen. We have an old fashioned calendar but everything on it needs extra notes about what is happening, where to go, etc. The web surfing functionality is totally secondary to calendar, notes, and email functionality. You could make this so cheaply and simply. Use a small wireless keyboard and mouse/trackball instead of an expensive touch screen. The processor can be slow, memory can be basic and it just needs to wirelessly connect to a network. There's nothing else required.
