Now that wineries are replacing traditional corks with non-recyclable rubber ones why not change the bottle design so they don't need corks?

The bottles can still keep their traditional, tall slender necks so the essence isn't lost but there must be a way to design the opening so it can be sealed with something smaller than a one inch hunk of rubber. For example, what about sealing with with the class itself like they used to do for injectable medicine?

How about an industry contest?

BTW, yes I know screw caps are recyclable but they are way too Mad Dog 20/20.
