Actually, Lego's Mindstorms programming environment is exactly like you describe. Granted, it's not applicable to business programming, but a similar model could be.

Think of it as a Snap Circuits electronic project kit. Electricity follows logic in the same way. Every connector would have an equivalent programming function.
