Notebook computer keyboards should be removable like other modular notebook accessories (batteries, etc.) and be wireless. It should recharge when in its slot.

more about this idea...

I came up with this idea while cleaning my laptop.  I popped out the thin keyboard and it was basically all one unit.  I started thinking how cool it would be if I could just slide it out and set it on my lap and use it wirelessly.  Of course, the keyboard would need to be in a small, thin box that was more robust than just the delicate keyboard that rests into its slot on most notebooks.

Why not have it slide in from the side and lock in place like batteries or other modular bays do?  Make it wireless, with a small battery on board that charges while it is snapped into the laptop.  It would draw very little power.  Logitech has a keyboard that lasts 3 years on just a 2A.  Sometimes I use my laptop to present things, such as powerpoints.  It would be so handy to be able to pop my wireless keyboard out of my laptop and use it off to the side while others crowd around the screen.  It just makes so much sense!
